It's hard to believe May is halfway over and there is less than a month left of school! Between field trips, in school programs and end of year activities - it's such an exciting time!  We're finalizing details for our end of year Ice Cream Social and will share information on that soon! 

We've also started planning for next year - our Board Elections took place this week. Congratulations to Annie Melia, who will be taking on the Communications Director position, Christina Way, who will be moving into a Member-at-large role and Ashley Christensen, our newest Member at Large.  Huge thank you to Rachel Teague for all she has done for the MPTO over the years.  She will be greatly missed on the board but we look forward to having her continue to help out on our committees.

This week 6th Grade students had an exciting in school program with Code and Circuit - a hands-on interactive approach to STEAM- inspired explorations.  Students had fun learning about technology with this unique experience. This program is designed to inspire, encourage creativity, create collaborative and critical thinking. 6th graders loved their interactive session with Spot the Boston Dynamics Robotic Dog - we're not sure Howie was as big of a fan!   

Last week our 5th graders had an exciting field trip to Camp Denison in Georgetown where they able to put their science learnings to use in real world situation. Students learned about the critical role of watersheds and ecosystems and even got to use equipment to assess animal life water quality! These fun and educational programs enhance our students learning and are made possible by participation in MPTO fundraisers and events - thank you!!
